CHAPTERHOUSE (music)
were a UK-based rock band that formed in 1987 and split
in 1995. Often categorised in the shoegaze scene with fellow dream-pop
iconoclasts My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, Chapterhouse pioneered
a brand of reverb-drenched guitar rock with electronic signatures.
During their eight years together, the band released a series of acclaimed
singles, including the UK top 40 hit Pearl,
and two full-length LPs, 1991's Whirlpool and
1995's Blood Music. Kite
Circuit features
their 1991 song Mesmerise, which later saw an album release as
part of the post-breakup Rownderbowt anthology.
