KATRINA FARRELL (production designer) comes
from an applied arts background, majoring in glass sculpture at Monash University
and spending extended periods on the islands of Borneo and Java in Indonesia,
before moving to the Gold Coast to shift her focus to film. In the past
two years, she have directed three short films and acted as Production Designer
on several projects inclusive of short films, music videos, and pre-production
of a low-budget feature film. These include, but are not limited to, Mountain
Story (2003), Benchmark Omega (2004), Consumer Life (2004),
the award-winning Stalemate (2005), A Conversation With Jo (2005), Dragon
Shadow (2005), and the music video Weakness (2005). In addition
to Kite Circuit, Katrina has a number of other projects in development,
including a graphic novel, the short films Sven Deconstructs the Status
Quo (dir. Mathew Clayfield), 9a.m. Session, The Council,
and music videos for Melbourne based groups ‘New Bedlam’ and ‘The
Record Boys’. She is currently studying film and television at Bond
University.
